If I could be anyone in the world I would be the female version of Gordon Ramsey because he is super good at what he does, he isn’t afraid to speak his mind and he gets to travel around the world. He knows all of the best and perfect ways to prepare food. He can cook the perfect risotto and scallops every time. I would love to have my food taste amazing every time. Since he knows what he is doing so well, he is not afraid to tell people what he thinks. Sometimes he isn’t very nice about how he tells people they are making mistakes, but he does cause young chefs to improve their techniques and become better at what they are doing. I wish that I had the guts to not worry about hurting people’s feelings and tell them like it is so that they would improve their skills for learning. Lastly, he gets to travel around the world and see exciting places and eat amazing food. He has been to fancy restaurants and the villages of third world countries. I am sure that there are foods around the world that would be very interesting to eat that we can’t get here at home. Maybe after I retire I can focus on my cooking skills and work to improve my food so that it might be worthy of Gordon Ramsey taste testing my most amazing creation.

The Many Faces of Spring
The weather today was at its best Colorado... wait 15 minutes and it will change. It was snowing light wispy flakes when I left for school, making me long for a day curled up with a book and cup of coffee. By lunch the sun was out and I almost expected to see tiny green buds on the tree outside my classroom windows. When I checked again there was such a ferocious blizzard with whiteout conditions which made me think we might call school off early, ooh, maybe a chance to get home early. I went to a meeting near the end of the day in a room with no windows and when I came out, the sun was again shinning and the spring sports teams were headed to the baseball field, soccer green and the tennis courts. It sometimes makes a person think they are living in many places all at once. It is never gloomy or cold for too long. Not too windy or cloudy. The sun really does shine almost 300 hundred days a year, well more if you count days like today when it was out at two different times between severe winter weather advisories. In Colorado, it really is very important to always have a window close by because not only is it the best weather man, it can give you minute by minute forecasts.

The Slice of Life Journey Begins
I am very excited to be using this Slice of Life Challenge as the catalyst for my writing journey. I have tried a couple of other ways to get started with writing each day and I have my students writing each day, but I have not found the right format for myself. My students keep encouraging me to write so when I saw this opportunity I decided to join. This also required me to learn how to create a blog site. Good thing my husband is a tech guy and was able to help me. So here I go.
